  1. Apr 19 OSHA 30-Hour Safety and Health Course "IAS" 5 Days, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    This 5 - Day course encompasses all aspects of the 10-Hour OSHA training course with additional emphasis on safety and health management and additional topics covered in the construction standards. Recommended four year renewal period.

  2. Burning 2 Days, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    Training is designed to prepare Laborers for work on demolition projects and general construction sites. Classroom studies include OSHA regulations and safe work practices. During hands-on training, students will learn proper set up, follow correct torch procedures, as well as practice effective cutting techniques. Students will apply these learned skills with various fuels used in the industry, including acetylene, propylene and propane. Plasma cutting is also introduced.

  3. Total Station 5 Days, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    This 5 - Day course was developed around the Total Station equipment. The Total Station combines both an electronic transit and an electronic distance-measuring device with software run on an internal computer. By the end of the course, given drawings and coordinates, a person should be able to layout a simple structure using the Total Station. Renewal period of five years.

  4. Asbestos Abatement Supervisor Training "IAS" 40 Hours, 07:00AM - 03:00PM

    Training fulfills all of the EPA, State of Illinois (IDPH) and Indiana (IDEM) requirements for obtaining an Asbestos Supervisor license. Course features estimating and blueprint reading exercises, project documentation and legal and regulatory liabilities. *Applicants are required to have a minimum of 2080 hours of asbestos worker experience.

  5. Apr 21 Flagger Certification Training 4 Hours, 07:00AM - 11:00AM

    This course meets the State of Illinois requirement for workers who direct or work around vehicular traffic. Training will focus on how to protect yourself, other workers and the public in work zones through the proper use of signs, signals and barricades. Renewal period of four years.

    This course meets the State of Illinois requirement for workers who direct or work around vehicular traffic. Training will focus on how to protect yourself, other workers and the public in work zones through the proper use of signs, signals and barricades. Renewal period of four years.

  8. Apr 26 Scaffold Technology "IAS" 5 Days, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    Effective April 1, 2020

    The CLTAF's Scaffold Program has been redesigned to meet idustry needs and demands of our Laborers. The CLTAF Scaffold Program will consist of the following independent training courses:

    5-Day Scaffold Technology Course

    This 5-Day training will include the following topics and scaffold systems:

    • Scaffold User Safety - OSHA Subpart L
    • Scaffold Tools and P.P.E.
    • Building Frame Scaffolds
    • Building Tube and Clamp Scaffolds
    • Building System Scaffolds
    • Proper Use and Safely Working 
      on Elevated Work Platforms (Scissor and Boom Lifts)

    This Scaffold Technology training certification will expire in 4 years and participants will need to take the  1-Day Scaffold Refresher to renew their skills/certification.

    The 5-Day Scaffold Technology and 2-Day Suspension Course Certificates/Skills will expire every 4 years. Participants will be required to attend this 1-Day Refresher Course every 4 years to maintain their current certificates/skills. There will be a 1-year grace period extended to you to renew your certification.

  9. Pipelaying "IAS" 5 Days, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    Focuses on the principles and techniques of installing gravity flow pipe. Laser aligners, transits, checking line and grade, and crew member responsibilities will be reviewed. You will learn how to determine pipe slope and percentage of grade. Renewal period of five years.

  10. Lead Abatement Worker Training "IAS" 5 Days, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    This training fulfills EPA and State of Illinois (IDPH) requirements for obtaining a Lead Abatement Worker license. Training covers the uses of lead, health effects, PPE and abatement and disposal requirements. Hands-on activities include the use of air purifying respirators, construction of containments and decontamination units, as well as simulated removal of lead-based paint. This certificate is valid for three years. Students with an expired certificate for more than 12 months are not elligible for reaccreditation and must retake the initial training course.

  11. American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED 1 Day, 07:00AM - 12:00PM

    This course offers the latest techniques by the American Red Cross in giving first aid or cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED). Renewal period of two years.

  12. Supervisor Training Program - Foreman/General Foreman "IAS" 40 Hours, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    This 40 hour course is geared toward current Foreman/General Foreman and/or Laborers aspiring to become Foreman/General Foreman. It will cover the duties and responsibilities that are expected from Foreman and General Foreman.

    This LIUNA Curriculum has been designed and developed by Laborers for LIUNA members across the United States and Canada. It is also recognized by the International Accreditation Services "IAS".

  13. GPS - Global Positioning 5 Days, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    Our 5 - Day course prepares a worker to setup and configure a base station and rover, teaches them various measuring techniques and outlines uses for simple structure layouts. Individuals will learn the components of the GPS, principles of operation, field procedures, data collection and configuration procedures. Renewal period of five years.

  14. Apr 27 American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED 1 Day, 07:00AM - 12:00PM

    This course offers the latest techniques by the American Red Cross in giving first aid or cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED). Renewal period of two years.

  18. May 3 Asbestos Abatement Worker Training "IAS" 5 Days, 07:00AM - 03:00PM

    This course fulfills all of the EPA, State of Illinois (IDPH) and Indiana (IDEM) requirements for obtaining an Asbestos Worker license. This certificate is valid for three years. Students with an expired certificate for more than 12 months are not elligible for reaccreditation and must retake the initial training course.

    This 1-Day refresher training is required every 4 years to renew your CLTAF Scaffold Buiders Certification. Participants will be refreshed and required to pass a hands-on performance assessment on Frame, Tube and Clamp, System, and Suspension Scaffolds.
