  1. Oct 2 Hoisting and Rigging "IAS" 40 Hours, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    Training focuses on the mathematical formulas for proper rigging techniques. These formulas will be used in determining correct sling angles and load calculations. The signal person safety training (SPST) is also a part of this curriculum. Renewal period of four years.

  3. Lead Abatement Worker Training "IAS" 5 Days, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    This training fulfills EPA and State of Illinois (IDPH) requirements for obtaining a Lead Abatement Worker license. Training covers the uses of lead, health effects, PPE and abatement and disposal requirements. Hands-on activities include the use of air purifying respirators, construction of containments and decontamination units, as well as simulated removal of lead-based paint. This certificate is valid for three years. Students with an expired certificate for more than 12 months are not elligible for reaccreditation and must retake the initial training course.

    This course offers the latest techniques by the American Red Cross in giving first aid or cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED). Renewal period of two years.

  5. Oct 4 Flagger Certification Training 4 Hours, 07:00AM - 11:00AM

    This course meets the State of Illinois requirement for workers who direct or work around vehicular traffic. Training will focus on how to protect yourself, other workers and the public in work zones through the proper use of signs, signals and barricades. Renewal period of four years.

  6. Oct 5 Burning 2 Days, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    Training is designed to prepare Laborers for work on demolition projects and general construction sites. Classroom studies include OSHA regulations and safe work practices. During hands-on training, students will learn proper set up, follow correct torch procedures, as well as practice effective cutting techniques. Students will apply these learned skills with various fuels used in the industry, including acetylene, propylene and propane. Plasma cutting is also introduced.
