  1. Oct 17 Flagger Certification Training 4 Hours, 07:00AM - 11:00AM

    This course meets the State of Illinois requirement for workers who direct or work around vehicular traffic. Training will focus on proper procedures of stopping and releasing traffic on roadways, how to protect yourself, other workers, and the public in work zones through the proper use of signs, signals and barricades. Renewal period of four years.
  2. Equipment Test Out 1 Hour, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    This course is only offered to experienced operators and/or individuals who have previously attended the Equipment Operation course. A time slot will be reserved for each student’s test out based on the equipment selected. Equipment available for test out: Skid steer. Class 4 industrial forklift. Class 7 rough terrain forklift. Boom Lift. Scissor Lift.

  7. Oct 26 Hoisting and Rigging 40 Hours, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    Training focuses on crane safety, rigging hardware identification, and the mathematical formulas for proper rigging techniques. These formulas will be used in determining correct sling angles and load calculations. In addition, signal person safety training (SPST) is also a part of this curriculum.  Participants will have an opportunity to utilize the skills learned during this course in hands-on exercises with a Hydraulic Mobile Crane.  Renewal period of four years.

  8. Scaffold Builder Refresher 1 Day, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    This 1-Day refresher training is required every 4 years to renew your CLTAF Scaffold Builders Certification. Participants will be refreshed and required to pass a hands-on performance assessment on Frame, Tube and Clamp, System and Elevated Work Platforms (Scissor and Boom Lifts). There will be a 1-year grace period extended to you to renew your certification.

    The LiUNA Chicagoland Laborers' Training Fund is offering this 1- Day (8 hour) training course as part of our continued education. This course will meet and comply with OSHA's Final Rule on Silica Exposure. OSHA has amended thier previous exposure limits due to significant risk to workers' health. All contractors must be compliant with OSHA's Final Rule as of September 23, 2017.

    A required certification for all Laborers working in a hospital or healthcare environment. Topics will include: setting up and maintaining a negative air environment; removing debris; constructing barriers to prevent the spread of infectious diseases; monitoring the work environment and inspecting, donning and removing personal protection equipment.

Specific topics include excavation, backfill and compaction, placement of concrete, concrete vibration, tool identification, finishing and curing.  Hands-on projects will consist of placing slabs on grade, walls, and columns. Renewal period of five years.

    This annual refresher training fulfills all of the EPA, State of Illinois (IDPH) and Indiana (IDEM) requirements for maintaining an Asbestos Worker license. Students with an expired certificate for more than 12 months (Indiana) or 12 months (Illinois) are not eligible for reaccreditation and must retake the initial training course.

    This Solar Farm Training course is composed of both classroom and hands-on training. The course will provide experience related to commercial Solar Farm construction and Solar Panel Installation.     Focuses on the principles and techniques of installing pressure and gravity flow pipe systems. Laser aligners, transits, checking line and grade, and crew member responsibilities will be reviewed. You will learn how to determine pipe slope and percentage of grade. Renewal period of five years.
