    This annual refresher training fulfills all of the EPA, State of Illinois (IDPH) and Indiana (IDEM) requirements for maintaining an Asbestos Supervisor license. Students with an expired certificate for more than 12 months (Indiana) or 12 months (Illinois) are not eligible for reaccreditation and must retake the initial training course.

  3. Jan 12 OSHA 30-Hour Safety and Health Course 5 Days, 07:00AM - 02:30PM

    This 5 - Day course encompasses all aspects of the 10-Hour OSHA training course with additional emphasis on safety and health management and additional topics covered in the construction standards.  Hazard recognition and elimination will be discussed in detail.  Recommended four year renewal period.

  5. Silica Exposure Awareness 1 Day, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    The LiUNA Chicagoland Laborers' Training Fund is offering this 1- Day (8 hour) training course as part of our continued education. This course will meet and comply with OSHA's Final Rule on Silica Exposure. OSHA has amended thier previous exposure limits due to significant risk to workers' health. All contractors must be compliant with OSHA's Final Rule as of September 23, 2017.

  6. Jan 13 Solar Farm Training 3 Days, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    This Solar Farm Training course is composed of both classroom and hands-on training. The course will provide experience related to commercial Solar Farm construction and Solar Panel Installation. Classroom activities include lessons on electrical hazards, PV module, post and racking installation and more. Hands on activities include site prep, layout and setting the posts, racking system and panels.

  7. Confined Space Awareness 1 Day, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    The 8-hour Confined Space in Construction Awareness course is an "awareness only" course which is intended to raise the participant’s level of understanding of the hazards associated to working in and around confined spaces. 

     

    This course will not train individuals to enter a permit required confined space or work as a member of a permit-required confined space entry team.

     Individuals who will be working as members of an entry team should take the 3-Day Permit-Required Confined Space Entry Safety course, which covers each topic in greater detail and provides more “hands-on” experience.

  9. Flagger Certification Training 4 Hours, 07:00AM - 11:00AM

    This course meets the State of Illinois requirement for workers who direct or work around vehicular traffic. Training will focus on proper procedures of stopping and releasing traffic on roadways, how to protect yourself, other workers, and the public in work zones through the proper use of signs, signals and barricades. Renewal period of four years.

  10. Jan 14 Asbestos Awareness 1 Day, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    This 8-Hour awareness course meets OSHA requirements for class IV asbestos work.  It is designed for construction workers that work near but do NOT intentionally contact of disturb ACM (Asbestos Containing Materials) or PACM (Presumed Asbestos Containing Materials)

  11. Jan 15 Lead Abatement Supervisor Refresher "IAS" 1 Day, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    This training fulfills EPA and State of Illinois (IDPH) requirements for maintaining a Lead Abatement Supervisor license. This certification is valid for three years. Students with an expired certificate for more than 12 months are not elligible for reaccreditation and must retake the initial training course.

  12. Jan 16 Hazardous Waste Worker Refresher "IAS" 1 Day, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    This annual refresher training fulfills all of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 (HAZWOPER) requirement for working on hazardous waste sites. In addition, course reviews OSHA permit-required confined space and hazard communication standards (GHS). Students with an expired certificate for more than 12 months are not elligible for reaccreditation and must retake the initial training course.

  13. American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED 5 Hours, 07:00AM - 12:00PM

    This course offers the latest techniques by the American Red Cross in giving first aid, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED). Renewal period of two years.

  15. Jan 19 Supervisor Training Program - Foreman/General Foreman 40 Hours, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    This 40 hour course is geared toward current Foreman/General Foreman and/or Laborers aspiring to become Foreman/General Foreman. It will cover the duties and responsibilities that are expected from Foreman and General Foreman.

    This LIUNA Curriculum has been designed and developed by Laborers for LIUNA members across the United States and Canada. It is also recognized by the International Accreditation Services "IAS".

  16. Pipelaying 5 Days, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    Focuses on the principles and techniques of installing pressure and gravity flow pipe systems. Laser aligners, transits, checking line and grade, and crew member responsibilities will be reviewed. You will learn how to determine pipe slope and percentage of grade. Renewal period of five years.

  17. Jan 20 Lead RRP (Renovation, Repair and Painting) Training "IAS" 2 Days, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    This training fulfills the EPA’s requirements to become a Certified Lead Renovator. Certification is required for Laborers who are engaging in renovation, repair and painting activities that disturb lead-based paint in pre-1978 houses and child occupied facilities. This certificate is valid for five years. Students must take their refresher training prior to the expiration of their current or refresher certificate.

  18. Jan 26 Asbestos Abatement Worker Training 5 Days, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    This course fulfills all of the EPA, State of Illinois (IDPH) and Indiana (IDEM) requirements for obtaining an Asbestos Worker license. Hands-on activities include the use of air purifying respirators, construction of negative pressure containment and decontamination unit, as well as simulated removal and clean up of asbestos materials.

    Clean-shaven face is required for Respirator Fit Certification.

  19. Jan 31 Equipment Test Out 1 Hour, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    This course is only offered to experienced operators and/or individuals who have previously attended the Equipment Operation course. A time slot will be reserved for each student’s test out based on the equipment selected. Equipment available for test out: Skid steer. Class 4 industrial forklift. Class 7 rough terrain forklift. Boom Lift. Scissor Lift.

  21. Fall Protection Certification 1 Day, 07:00AM - 03:30PM

    Become aware of the technical information regarding the human body in fall arrest and suspension. This class will cover the different classifications of the Fall Protection Systems card. Classroom study of rules and regulations will be taught along with demonstrations and hands-on projects.
