Lead Awareness

8 Hours

This 8-hour Lead Awareness Training Class provides participants with a thorough understanding of lead hazards commonly encountered in construction and renovation, in accordance with OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910.1025 and 1926.62). The course covers health effects of lead exposure, routes of exposure, recognition of lead-containing materials, exposure control methods, proper work practices, and personal protective equipment. Students will also learn about housekeeping procedures, hygiene practices, medical surveillance requirements, and regulatory compliance. This course is intended for lead awareness only and does not qualify participants to perform lead abatement or EPA RRP activities. Lead abatement and RRP certification courses are available separately. Through classroom instruction and practical examples, participants will gain the knowledge needed to recognize lead hazards and help reduce the risk of lead exposure in the workplace.

What happens next…?

  • You can submit an application on line and it will be delivered directly to the Training Fund.
  • Once received, your application will be assigned a position number and go into a course waiting list pool with all other applications.
  • Classes are scheduled based on demand. When we have received the minimum number of applications required to schedule a class, one will be added to the schedule.
  • Approximately one month before a class begins, texts are sent out to members on the waiting list. This text will offer you a seat in the class of your choice, but you must call the Training Fund to confirm your seat.
  • Your application will automatically be removed from the system after 6 months, so please reapply if you have not received notification from us.
