2nd Quarter, 2008 New Prerequisite for 80-hour Haz Waste CourseEffective immediately, the Training Center is requiring all students applying for Hazardous Waste Training (HWT) to have completed either a 10- or 30-hr. OSHA course. Our HWT course will now include Disaster Site Worker training as well as Permit Confined Space training. If you do not have a current OSHA card, and need HWT, apply for OSHA training immediately! Chicago Training Center Update We look forward to the beginning of April bringing not only some warmer weather, but also the start of construction on the new 70,000 sq. ft. Chicago Training Center. Architecture firm Fujikawa Johnson Gobel has designed a wonderful facility and The Krusinski Construction Company has been named as the general contractor. The 24-acre property at 5700 W. Homer has been cleared and is ready for the start of work. We are expecting the project to be completed by the summer of 2009. Pipeline Safety The National Pipeline Agreement now specifies that an individual must meet the following pipeline work experience qualification before being sent to a pipeline job:
- Individuals must have either 200 hours in the last 2 years or 400 hours in the last 4 years or
Have received training in the Laborers/AGC Pipeline Safety Course Our Pipeline Safety course will be composed of both classroom and hands-on training. If you plan on working within the pipeline field, be sure to sign up for a Pipeline Safety class as soon as possible.
